Park to the north of Ayr
opened in 1994. As the park was
built in the southerly reaches of a
former RAF station, it was
originally marked by a replica
Spitfire aircraft at the entrance.
The Spitfire took off during a
storm never to be seen again, only
the propeller remains.

complex, with diners such as Pizza
Hut and KFC, Frankie & Bennys
and Subway are just a few hundred
yards further up the road. More
stores at the Heatfield Industrial
