Norwegian Sun
was the first large cruise ship ordered by the Norwegian Cruise
Line. She followed the 77,104-ton Norwegian Sky
that entered service in 1999. Norwegian Sky was
originally being built for the Costa Cruise Line before being
bought by NCL. Although these two ships are sometimes classed
as sister ships, they have quite a few differences.
Norwegian Sun
has 11 passenger decks, 2 pools, 12 bars, casino, fitness center,
1,037-seat entertainment lounge, 650 outside cabins of which
432 have balconies, 318 inside cabins, can carry 1,936 passengers
and a crew of 970.
Norwegian Sun is operated on 7 night cruises from Miami
- Florida, Bahamas, Caribbean & Mexico. Another route is seven
nights out of Vancouver - Alaska.
