Princess was
the first of two sister ships delivered
to Princess Cruises in 2004, Sapphire Princess was
delivered a few months later. These ships are similar in size
and design to that of the 109,000 ton Grand Princess class that
began entering service in 1998.
These ships
have 18 decks,
3 pools, 10 bars, casino, fitness center, 750-seat showroom,
916 outside cabins with 706 having balconies, 377 inside cabins,
can carry 2,670 passengers and a crew of 1,100.
Diamond
Princess and Sapphire Princess are mainly operated
on 7 night cruises out of Los Angeles - Mexico, and 7 nights from
Vancouver - Alaska. They are also occasionally operated on cruises
to the Orient, South East Asia & Australia.
