Ocean Village 2 was originally built for Princess Cruises as their Crown Princess. The second cruise ship in this class Regal Princess entered service in 1991.These two ships followed Princess Cruises 63,525-ton Star Princess that entered service in 1988. Star Princess was transferred to P&O in 1997 to be operated under the name Arcadia. This ship was relocated to the Palma based Ocean Village in 2003 to be operated under the name Ocean Village.

Crown Princess has 11 passenger decks, 2 pools, 5 bars, casino, fitness center, 740-seat theatre, 624 outside cabins with 184 having balconies, 171 inside cabins, can carry over 1,500 passengers and a crew of 690.

Crown Princess was operated on cruises from Fort Lauderdale - Caribbean, Fort Lauderdale - San Diego via the Panama Canal, New England - Canada, Trans Atlantic, and cruises throughout the Mediterranean & Northern Europe. P&O transferred her to their German based Aida cruise line in 2002 to be operated under the name Aida Blu.

Aida Blu was transferred to P&Os Ocean Village cruise line in 2007 to be operated under the name Ocean Village 2 out of Palma/Majorca - various Mediterranean ports.

Her sister ship Regal Princess is normally operated by Princess Cruises on cruises from Los Angeles - Panama Canal, and 15, 20 & 31 night cruises - Hawaii.
