Costa Atlantica
was the first of two sister ships built for the Costa Cruise
Line. The second cruise ship of this class Costa Mediterranea
entered service in 2003. These ships followed the 75,951-ton
Costa Victoria that entered service in 1996.
This class
of cruise ship has 12 passenger decks, 4 pools, 12 bars, casino,
fitness center, 1,167-seat theatre/cinema, 777 outside cabins
with 676 having balconies, 297 inside cabins, can carry over
2,112 passengers and a crew of 900.
Atlantica is normally
operated on cruises out of Fort Lauderdale in winter to the
Bahamas and Caribbean. Her Mediterranean cruises normally depart
from Genoa & Amsterdam.
Mediterranea
is also occasionally operated out of Fort Lauderdale in winter
to the Bahamas and Caribbean. Her main rout is 7 night cruises
from Venice - Mediterranean & Agean Seas.
