Fantasy was the first of eight sister ships built
for the Carnival Cruise Line. Other ships in this class are
Ecstasy that entered service in 1991, Sensation
1993, Fascination 1994, Imagination 1995, Inspiration
1996, Elation 1998 and Paradise 1998. The Fantasy
class followed Carnivals three 47,000-ton Holiday class ships
that entered service between 1985 and 1987.
These eight
sisters have 10 passenger decks, 3 pools, 5 bars, casino, fitness
center, 1,000-seat show lounge, 620 outside cabins with 54 having
verandas, 402 inside cabins, can carry over 2,000 passengers and a
crew of 920.
Fantasy is based at New Orleans to be operated on
4&5 night cruises - Western Caribbean.
Ecstasy operates out of Galveston on 4&5 night
cruises - Western Caribbean & Mexico.
Sensation is operated out of Port Canaveral on 3&4
night cruises - Bahamas.
Fascination is based at Miami for 3&4 night cruises
- Bahamas & Western Caribbean.
Imagination’s
main route is 4&5 night cruises from Miami - Western
Caribbean.
Inspiration operates out of Tampa on 4&5 night
cruises - Western Caribbean.
Elation’s main routes are 4&5 night cruises from
Port Canaveral -Bahamas and 4&5 night cruises from San Diego
- Mexico.
Paradise is based at Long Beach/California to be operated
on 3&4 night cruises to Mexico.
