Scottish Castle built for Queen Victoria. Answer can be found below.
Balmoral Castle became a royal residence in the 1840s. In 1842, two and a half years after her marriage to Prince Albert, Queen Victoria visited Scotland for the first time. They were so struck with the Highlands, a further visit to Scotland led to them leasing Balmoral in 1848, a property they had never seen. The royals were so impressed with Balmoral they began negotiations to purchase the castle. Once the land was purchased in 1852, they decided to rebuild as the building was no longer adequate for their needs. A new site was chosen, 100 yards to the North West of the old building, so that they could continue to occupy the old house while the new castle was under construction. The foundation stone for Balmoral Castle laid by Queen Victoria September 28th 1853 can be found at the foot of the wall adjacent to the west face of the entrance porch. After the castle was completed in 1856, the old building was demolished. The old building is commemorated by a stone located on the front lawn at a point opposite the tower, about 100 yards from the path. This stone marks the position of the front door of the demolished castle.
