Glaisnock House, Sheila
McClymont, 30 10 2005.
When I was attending Tarbolton
Secondary in the 1950s, some of
the boys left to attend Glaisnock
when it opened as a rural
education school. Also, a Mr
Douglas left as well to teach
there. I always wondered what it
was like at the new school.

I have heard that Dalquharran
Castle outside the village of
Dailly was used to accommodate
children from the cities durng
World War Two to protect them
from German bombings. Hopefully
someone will be able to give more
information on this subject.
More information on this
castle and the children it housed
during the war can be found at:
website.

Is it true that the Arthur
Memorial UF Church, which sits on
the site of Cumnock Castle,
Castle Hill, Castle, New Cumnock,
Ayrshire, is the only building
designed by the Welsh architect
Beddoe-Rees outside of Wales? The
castle was held by Patrick
Blackbeard Dunbar in 1296 and
Edward II spent more than a week
at the Castle in August 1307.
Cheers, Geoff.
