Mercedes R-Class

This is the first luxury MPV, first introduced by Mercedes at Detroit in 2005. The Mercedes R-Class houses a six-seat layout in a tall, elongated estate car-type body, designed primarily for the American market. Indeed it is built in America.

The R-Class will attract rich families who need the practicality of an MPV but don't want anything as mainstream as, say, a Vauxhall or Renault on the driveway, as well as business users who want something spacious yet luxurious enough to impress clients. Mercedes anticipates R-Class customers moving across from either large off-roaders or luxury saloons.
